State-sanctioned violence against Black children isn’t just a dark chapter in American history—it is the bedrock upon which these systems were built. The horrific discovery of hundreds of graves at a former Maryland reform school proves once again how completely this nation dehumanized Black youth while pretending to offer ‘reform’.

Hundreds of our young Black boys were sent to Maryland’s House of Reformation, a state-run facility where they endured horrific mistreatment and neglect. Now, hundreds of graves have been found at the site, many unmarked. Their lives mattered. We must uncover the truth about what happened to these young men and ensure their stories are never erased.
