JUST IN: Ben Crump Demands Bodycam Release After JSO Kills 22-Year-Old Asia Bennett

Another Black life taken by law enforcement, and once again the department is playing games with basic transparency. Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officers shot and killed 22-year-old Asia Bennett, and civil rights attorney Ben Crump is stepping in to demand the footage they are desperately trying to stall.

Asia Bennett, 22, was shot and killed by a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) officer on Aug. 11. Attorney Crump will demand that JSO release the body camera and any dash camera footage from the shooting.

We all know the playbook by now: if the video exonerated the cop, it would have been released in high definition before the end of the shift.
