Supreme Court Rejects Trump's Desperate Carroll Appeal

The SCOTUSblog reports:
Even Clarence Thomas’s playground couldn’t save Donald Trump from paying up this time. Watching the Supreme Court reject the disgraced former president’s endless appeals proves that even top-tier conservative judicial privilege has its limits when accountability comes knocking.
The Supreme Court on Monday rejected Donald Trump’s request to reconsider its decision not to hear his appeal in the defamation lawsuit brought by writer E. Jean Carroll. The justices issued a brief order denying Trump’s petition for rehearing without any recorded dissents or noted comments from the members of the court. Trump had asked the justices to step in and reverse a lower court ruling that rejected his claim of presidential immunity regarding statements he made while in office denying Carroll’s allegations. The court’s refusal to reconsider leaves intact the lower court decisions holding Trump liable for damages.
